Reset Your Day: Practical Tips for a Fresh Start
Jun 05, 2024“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.” – Vince Lombardi
We all have those days where everything seems to go wrong – you wake up late, the dog has an accident in the house, it’s raining and your umbrella is broken, you spend 30 minutes on a customer service chat that doesn’t solve your problem. These minor inconveniences can pile up and create a stressful and irritating experience. What can you do to interrupt this pattern and reset your day? Try some of the following:
Change of Scenery
Step outside, walk down the hall, or take a drive to interrupt the pattern.
Play Uplifting Music
Listen to music that boosts your mood. Create a playlist specifically for such occasions.
Exercise
Engage in physical activity to get a boost of endorphins. Exercise can help turn your day around.
Practice Deep Breathing
Stop what you’re doing and focus on your breathing. Try the 5-6-7 breath: inhale for 5 seconds, hold for 6 seconds, exhale for 7 seconds.
Journal
Write down what’s going on. Putting your thoughts on paper can help you process and release them.
Meditate
Step away from the chaos for a few moments. Hang out in a bathroom stall if you need to. Ask yourself, “What is this trying to tell me?”
Laugh
Find something that makes you laugh. One video that cracks me up every time is “Jaden Broke” on YouTube.
EFT Tapping
This is my go-to resource. By sending calming signals and talking about what’s going on, you can release tension and help reset your day. Tap along with me on YouTube.
The next time your day seems to go awry, try some of these strategies to interrupt the negative pattern. Remember, you have the power to choose how you respond to whatever comes your way.
