“You can’t change what you don’t measure.” – Peter Drucker

Now is the perfect time to reflect on your progress and reassess your goals for this year.  Whether you’re on track, need to make adjustments, or want to set new goals, this guide will help you.  Use the accompanying Mid-Year Goal Worksheet to assist you.

Step 1: REVIEW

The first step in your mid-year goal check-in is to review your current goals.  Here’s how to do it:

  • Locate Your Goals: Find your list of goals for the year. If you didn’t set any goals or can’t remember them, don’t worry! This is an opportunity for a fresh start.
  • Document Your Progress: Write each goal in the “Original Goal” column on the worksheet.
  • Evaluate Progress: In the “Progress Check” column, describe what you have accomplished so far.
  • Emotional Check-In: If you feel any negative emotions while evaluating your progress, try EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Tapping to release these feelings. You can watch my tapping video Mid-Year Goal Check-in as a guide.

Step 2: REVISE

After reviewing your goals, it’s time to revise them to better align with your current situation and aspirations:

  • Eliminate Irrelevant Goals: Remove any goals that no longer resonate with your interest or purpose. It’s okay to let go of goals that no longer serve you.
  • Update Existing Goals: Adjust any goals that need modifications. This could be changing the scope, deadline, or approach based on new insights and circumstances. Write these in the “Revision” column of the worksheet.
  • Add New Goals: Identify new objectives you want to achieve in the remaining part of the year. Write these in the “Goals for the Rest of the Year” section.

Step 3: REFRESH

Now it’s time to modify your visual reminders for your goals:

  • Update Your Vision Board: Use your revised list of goals to update your vision board. If you don’t have a vision board, now is a great time to create one.  A vision board can help keep your goals front and center, providing daily inspiration and focus.

Step 4: RESTART

With your revised goals in hand, it’s time to restart your journey towards achieving them:

  • Daily Actions: Identify consistent daily actions you can take to move closer to your goals. Small, regular steps can lead to significant progress over time.
  • Schedule Your Goals: Allocate time in your calendar dedicated to pursuing these goals. Treat these appointments with the same importance as work meetings or personal commitments.
